Seven Wonders of Fleetwood Mac A Book Review

A stack of flyers on a table

Seven Wonders of Fleetwood Mac is one of the best books on fishing I have ever read. It’s the ultimate book on fishing, period. It is very detailed and includes a lot of historical facts and information about the life of the fishermen of Fleetwood Mac. Fishermen in England in the eighteenth century were tough people, as you will learn. The book details all the legal battles that were fought over the rights to fish in the rivers of Fleetwood Mac and what rights the local government had to protect the local fisherpeople. I must say that this book was very interesting and informative.

Fishes of Fleetwood Mac has many recipes that are spectacular. Some of them would be absolutely delicious on their own, like the pike trout in the casserole dish. The smoked salmon fillet that accompanies it is absolutely amazing. My husband is fond of the blackest salmon he’s ever had. And of course, there’s the wonderfully tasting cod caught straight from the Atlantic Ocean.

An Overview

Text, letter

Along with the recipes there are also quite a few pages on tools and equipment. There’s also a great little gallery of photos that go along with the book. The book does leave out a few items that aren’t necessarily true for traditional fishing, but for modern day fishing, I’m sure they’ll be right up your alley. This book is full of tips for organizing your tackle, picking the right boat and even has a few pages on fly tying techniques. If you’re a young fisherman, this book will serve as a great introduction to the sport.

Fishermen of Fleetwood Mac can expect to catch a variety of fish. There are rainbow trout, bass, salmon, pike, bream and more. I’ve fished on the River Esk for Rainbow Trout and was very excited when I saw a great size bass that we were able to catch on the fly. I fished the same river two days later and was only disappointed that we weren’t able to get any trout. That’s not to say that the other rivers we fished weren’t good, it just means that the conditions were different. If you like big bass, you should try the River Esk.
